It can be so hard to buy gifts for kids. Be it nieces, nephews, your own kids or grandkids, shopping for the littles can be tricky. You want to get them something that other people haven’t already bought. Who knows what they’re into at this stage. If you’re wanting to get something that isn’t Frozen or Minecraft, I’ve curated a neat list of cute gift ideas for kids.
Ranging from babies to 8/9 year olds, I hope I’ve provided a good selection for you.
Knee-High Toddler Socks
Any parent knows that getting your kid to keep their socks on is an absolute nightmare! I’ve just ordered these beauties, after Jack came home from day home wearing a pair of knee high socks that he couldn’t get off! I also think the designs are just darling compared to his boring old striped socks that we currently have.
Paper Kingdom Kits
Mama Bear, Papa Bear, Baby Bear!
These shirts make my heart sing, so much so that I’ve got them coming in the mail for Jack’s one-year photo. To be fair, everything else in this gal’s Etsy shop is to die for, and if there are more than one kid in the family, you can even get a ‘brother bear’ or a ‘sister bear’ shirt.
4M Green Science Kits
David and I have bought a few of these 4M Green Science kits for nieces and nephews. They do exactly what they are meant to – make science fun! From the potato clock to a trash robot or a weather station, they are neat activities for kids to do.
Lost My Name Books
I stinking LOVE these Lost My Name books! Let’s just say that Facebook advertising knows me well. Essentially, these are personalized books about a boy or a girl who has lost their name. When you order them, you enter the name of the child in question, and the book populates a series of characters that each gift the child with the first letter of their name. So, for our little Jack-a-doo he has a Jester, an Aardvark, a Chameleon and a Knight that gift letters. For the child reading this book, they may not realize until the very end that it spells their name. How cool is that? I may have bought one for each of the littlest nieces and nephews this year!
We first saw these at a holiday market and knew that our nephews would love them. Similar to lego, you can make whatever you like from the interlocking bricks, gears and widgets. You can buy multiple kits to make a huge contraption. Lots of fun for the whole family.
Freezable Lunch Bags
I say for kids… but truth be told I’ve ordered one of these genius lunch bags for myself. You place it in the freezer at night (it folds down), fill it with your lunch the next morning, then it stays cold for up to 10 hours. Wahey! It will be perfect for your kids, or for anyone who hates using the smelly office fridge – just sayin’.
This is really a gift for the whole family! Hunker down this winter with your family, a bowl of popcorn and Finding Dory on DVD. No doubt your kids will watch it again and again and again, but do it the first time all together.
How darling are these?! Each order gets you a set of six blocks with stunning images from your favourite childhood books. The Winnie the Pooh blocks are my favourite, but Storybook Blocks have many more options like Where the Wild Things Are, Harry Potter, On the Night You Were Born, Peter Rabbit, Dr. Seuss stories, Peter Pan, Eloise and more.
This Busy Box includes all the supplies and instructions to create 16 different craft projects for kids. Now, that’s value for money when you think of all the rainy days in one year.
So, what do you think? Will any of these gifts make it onto your holiday list this year? Comment below and feel free to let me know what must-have gift for kids you recommend.
Tomorrow I’m sharing ideas on how to treat yourself this holiday season!
