Today on the podcast we’re joined by my cousin-in-law, Emma Cranstoun. From afar (given that I live in Canada and Emma lives in the UK), I’ve always been impressed by Emma’s career trajectory. Starting in marketing and sales with Guinness, she quickly rose the ranks and moved with Guinness to Diageo, managing brands like Stella Artois and favourites that many of us enjoy on a warm summers day on a friendly patio!
Since having kids, Emma took on an even greater challenge – launching her own retail product called Scrubbingtons, a children’s soap range that helps them be empowered and more independent. Given that Emma’s background is in marketing, I’ve always been curious how one goes about navigating the world of creating retail products. I mean… how does one create the soap recipe, or find a manufacturer, and, and, and…
Not only do we talk about her career, but we also talk about Emma’s goals in parenting to raise a strong girl and a sensitive boy. We talk about the roles that schools should and need to play in preparing our students for the unknown economies of the future.
