Whether you’re a new parent (hello!), busy with work, can’t commit to an 8-week workout class or are just on a budget, I’ve come to realize that YouTube is the place to find your workouts.
Here are my favourite youtube workouts that you can do from the comfort of your home. For pretty much all of them, all you need is a yoga mat. I mean… you could probably also use the carpet, but to avoid the slip, invest in a cheap yoga mat.
Lucy Wyndham Read
I love, love, LOVE Lucy’s workouts. A former member of the British Army, Lucy knows from experience that you don’t need serious equipment in order to reap great workout results. Many of her videos are just a few minutes long, but believe me, those few minutes will leave your muscles burning calories for hours. Don’t believe me? Just check out all the Before and After photos of her followers on her site. Definitely inspiring.
If you check out her website, there are plenty of free resources, including a clean eating plan, because we all know that exercise is one thing, but if you’re not eating right, you’ll see zero results.
She’s also got some great videos with fellow YouTuber Anna Saccone Joly for workouts to do through each trimester.
A good friend introduced me to Blogilates. To find beginner workouts, just use the search bar on the channel itself and enter ‘beginner’. You’ll find plenty to meet your needs… I have! If you’re not a beginner, she’s also got you covered with some seriously challenging moves.
I’ve always wanted to sign up for more workout classes, but I just have to face that this is not the season of my life where it’s easy to get out for scheduled classes. Enter YouTube and pilates to rebuild my core strength and get my sweat on.
Another perk of the Blogilates website is that each month there is a really neat calendar workout plan to take the guesswork out of fitness.
When I was pregnant with Jack, I was all about taking a prenatal yoga class. What I ended up getting was a major disappointment. The instructor was a little more hippie than I’d have liked and a bit more about connecting the vibes than about actually helping me to learn a safe yoga routine for my growing baby belly.
Enter YouTube and Tonic Yoga prenatal workouts. They have an entire playlist of pregnancy yoga videos, and the instructor named Tammy is my favourite. BUT, Tonic do yoga videos of all sorts, so don’t think that it’s just for the growing mamas. They have everything from weight-loss yoga to vinyassa, so I’m sure you’ll find a yoga video to fit your needs.
I’m also a huge fan of their morning yoga video before and… I almost thing the morning yoga video below is as good, if not better, than coffee (sacrilege!).
Whoever first shared Fitness Marshall on my Facebook feed – thank you! If you just want to have FUN while working out, this is the place to do it. I love his energy, the great music, and you can tell they are having a great time. I dare you not to be sweating at the end of a video or two.
This Meghan Trainor video he did is one of my all-time favourites.
So, these are my all-time favourite YouTube workouts. I would absolutely love it if you’d share your favourite YouTube workouts in the comments below. If you do, I’ll add a running list of links at the bottom of this post so that everyone can easily access them.
Remember, the blog followers that work out together, stay together 😉 Have a fantastic week and keep rocking 2017.
