This week on the podcast we’re joined by my longtime friend, Julie Yepishina Geller.
Julie shares her story of coming to Canada as a refugee from the former USSR, what it was like to grow up with major cultural differences, and her current entrepreneurial venture, Tok.

My favourite part of this episode is Julie sharing the impact that her mother has had on her. Shortly after her parents came to Canada they divorced, and so not only was Julie raised by a single mother, but her mother had to navigate creating a life while learning English and a new country. Julie shares the best lessons that she’s learned from her mother and they’re pretty impactful ones.
