Taking on Leadership Roles with Chantel Cabaj

Today on the podcast we’re joined by Chantel Cabaj, the founder of DirectHer Network, a not-for-profit dedicated to empowering Albertan women with the tools and supports necessary to serve on boards. The reason this organization came to be is a fascinating one, and I don’t want to spoil it so you’ll have to listen!

Chantel Cabaj

Chantel is a lawyer by trade, had been in a stable career, but had not been pushing herself to take on leadership roles. One night changed everything. Now Chantel has created this organization to take away many of the knowledge gaps that women state as their reasons for avoiding leadership roles. No more excuses! She makes it easy and comfortable for women to lean into new opportunities.

We talk about why women are leaning out, how to think about yourself as a set of skills instead of a title, the differences between men and women and much more. Big thanks to Chantel for joining the podcast and you can check out her work at DirectHer. They have a phenomenal event coming up on March 8th so check it out!
