This week on the podcast we’re joined by author, audiobook narrator, puppeteer, and podcaster (among many other things), Mary Robinette Kowal. I had the pleasure of seeing Mary give a keynote address at the Surrey International Writers’ Conference, except she gave it in an incredibly unique way – through her puppet.
It was such a moving keynote, that I knew I needed to know more. In learning a bit more about Mary, I am blown away by how she juggles various careers, albeit they all centre around storytelling.
In this interview we discuss how she keeps herself organized, mental health for writers, what goes into creating an audiobook, puppetry injuries (true story), and the legacy she hopes to leave.
In other super exciting news, we are giving away a copy of Mary’s most recent book, The Calculating Stars in audiobook format. Enter either over on Instagram or Twitter (see pinned post). Entries close on Wednesday, Sept 26th at 11:59 MST.
