Throwback Thursday Photo: Victoria, BC

Like most amateur photographers, I have a love of doors.

This particular door comes from Victoria, British Columbia. My Mom and I went here on a mother-daughter weekend getaway in 2012. I remember it vividly, because it’s the same weekend I got shingles *shudder*. Now that was fun. Ahem. Not.

Back to B.C.

Mom and I were exploring the waterfront, which is pretty spectacular in that there are floating houses along the dock. This door belongs to one such house. I couldn’t help but imagine who lived there, if they were bothered by all the tourists, and what it would be like to feel your house sway with the tide. Seals even popped up along the docks, waiting for treats from passers-by. To this resident, seals may very well be their wakeup call.

I loved the porthole detail on the door. In fact, if it wasn’t there, I’d almost have forgotten where this was taken.

What’s the most unique house you’ve seen? Share below.

You aren’t alone Victoria, I’m quite obsessed with doors myself too. No matter if brand new or very old, I love to look at their different designs and details, anything that would attract my attention in fact.

Phew! At least it’s not an illness – just an obsession!
